Health tip: Omega-3 is important for our brains and eyesight

DHA (omega-3) accounts for 40% of the polyunsaturated fatty acids in the brain, and 60% in the retina of the eye, so DHA is very important for visual and neurological needs.

Several studies suggest omega-3 may protect against Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, and reduce memory loss through ageing.

Food that have a high content of omega-3 includes:
  • salmon
  • most fishes
  • almond nuts
  • chia seeds
  • flaxseed
  • walnuts
  • soya beans
