Contaminated eggs scandal spreads from Europe to Asia

A scandal involving eggs contaminated with insecticide fipronil spread to 15 EU countries, Switzerland and as far away as Hong Kong on Friday (Aug 11).

The EU insists there is no threat to human health, but the World Health Organization (WHO) says that when eaten in large quantities it can harm people's kidneys, liver and thyroid glands.

Brussels said the 15 affected EU countries were Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Sweden, Britain, Austria, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Denmark, along with non-EU Switzerland.

But in a sign the crisis is going global, Brussels also announced that Hong Kong had received some tainted eggs from the Netherlands, with the southern Chinese city becoming the first place in Asia known to be affected.

Glucosamine supplements do not help knee or hip arthritis pain

Oral glucosamine, a natural supplement often marketed for joint pain, has no more effect than a dummy pill, according to a new review of available research.

The analysis of randomized controlled trials from which data have been made public found that at both three-month and 24-month follow-up points, the supplement had no effect on either hip or knee pain from arthritis.

Even analyses of the results for sub-groups of study participants, such as overweight people or those with high inflammation, found no benefit with the supplements.

My 2 cents:
I have friends that took glucosamine before there are joint problems and until now, they have no such problems. So I believe glucosamine is good for maintenance of joints. But once you have problems, it may not help.

As for myself, I take celery supplement. It loosens my tight joints. But as it gives me gastritis, I only take 1/4 of the pill each time, but it is sufficient for me.

Technology: How to mine digital currency

Yes, trading digital currency is dangerous if you think it is just like trading shares or playing with foreign currency. Now, the point is, if you lose money, do not cry to the police saying you were cheated. Yes. You are cheated because you have not learnt more about the digital currency than you should.

Anyway, this post shows how one can earn some digital currency.

You must be proficient in learning and coding languages other than just using Windows or Apple computers. If you think you are good in using Windows or Apple computers, you are merely using the GUI (graphics user interface) of the operating software, you are not actually executing any commands directly.

In addition to learning how to mine digital currency, you should also learn how to protect digital currency as it can be stolen easily.
