Local Penang-born shuttler Loh Kean Yew notched a sensational victory after he beat two-time Olympic singles champion Lin Dan 21-19,21-18 to win the Thailand Masters finals on Sunday (Jan 13), taking home the winner's cheque of US$11,250.
Singapore's national footballer Ikhsan Fandi has signed a two-year contract with Norwegian second tier side Raufoss IL, the club announced on its website on Sunday (Jan 13).
The 19-year-old striker, who is the second son of local legend Fandi Ahmad, had been on trial with Raufoss for a week, the club said.
Ikhsan is the 3rd Lion to join a European team after Sundram and his father, Fandi.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) on Sunday (Jan 13) warned customers against falling victim to a website claiming to be from the airline and promising free air tickets.
In a Facebook post, SIA said that the website would ask users for their personal data.
“We have reported the site to be taken down and would like to advise customers to exercise discretion when revealing personal data to unverified sources,” the post said.
